Leaf pick-up begins Monday for the city of Warsaw. Winona Lake's pickup began two weeks ago.
This year the season will start differently for Warsaw.
During the week of Oct. 26 only, there will be one leaf crew on the north side and one crew on the south side. Leaves raked to the street will be picked up on regular trash days. Residents are advised not to rake leaves into the street. As a reminder, yard waste, trash, and leaf piles will need to be out by 7 a.m.
Beginning Nov. 2, the leaf trucks will then split into their designated areas and run their routes as normal.
As the routes get heavier, more trucks will be added. Once the leaf season is in full swing, it can take up to two weeks for the trucks to finish their route one time. Warsaw will be picking up street side first. Alley pickup will be at the end of the season.
Residents can continue to bag or box their leaves to have them picked up on regular trash days. In Winona Lake, leaf pickup began two weeks ago, and both leaf machines will be out Monday. The machines will be out everyday until the leaves are collected.
