Leadership Changes At Community Corrections

Posted
Kosciusko County Community Corrections Director Anna Bailey is out, and Barry Andrew is acting as the interim.

Andrew, who’s been with the Kosciusko County Probation Department since 2003, said he was appointed to the interim director position during the Nov. 19 KCCC Advisory Board meeting.

County attorney Chad Miner said Bailey was not present at that meeting, but she resigned Nov. 19.

Andrew said the director position is posted and applications are being taken.

KCCC is charged with monitoring people who have been sentenced to home detention and ankle monitoring bracelets. Andrew said about 127 people are currently serving their sentences through KCCC. The department has three full-time home detention officers, and one full-time drug court case manager, he said.

When asked by the Times-Union about the current shake-up at KCCC, Kosciusko County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Hampton said it is under investigation and there is nothing more he can say.

Miner was unsure as to how long Bailey had served as the program’s director.

More information is expected to come to light during a special meeting of the KCCC Advisory Board at 4 p.m. Thursday in Room D228 on the second floor of the Justice Building.

The meeting is open to the public.
