WINONA LAKE - Lakeland Christian Academy's drama department will present "How the West was Dun" today, Friday and Saturday.
This comedy by Christopher Gieschen is a melodrama that spoofs Hollywood westerns. The annual play is part of spirit week and the homecoming festivities.
Slick and wealthy Richard Coldheart must marry Polly Wanda Cracker to control the Cracker property. However, it's Polly's homely sister, Prunella, who wants to marry him. Meanwhile, the hero, Sheriff Wayne John, has his hands full surviving the antics of well-meaning but not-too-bright Deputy Doowrong.
When a bundle of villains, including Snydley Dastardley, Kid Kid and Calamity Jan attempt to take over Low Humidity Chasm, things really go crazy.
Audiences will have to pay close attention to whether Schizophrenic Kid is wearing his white hat or his black hat to know whether to cheer or boo. But Blacker Bart will leave no doubt in their minds, for he's even meaner than Black Bart.
Performances are today and Friday at 7 p.m., and Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door. Adults are $6, students $4, and preschoolers are free.LCA is at 1093 S. CR 250E, Winona Lake. For more information, call 574-267-7265.
