WINONA LAKE – Lakeland Christian Academy announced its top students for the graduating class of 2011. Katelyn Witte is this year’s valedictorian. The daughter of Tim and Lois Witte, Winona Lake, she has attended LCA for six years. She earned a cumulative numeric average of 98.35 during her high school career. She has served as treasurer of the National Honor Society and secretary of the senior class. She was named this year’s Outstanding Senior in English. She led a UPS Community Service group that served at Milford Elementary. She plans to study at Grace College in the fall. Sara Danielian, the daughter of Roy and Martha Danielian, Winona Lake, is this year’s salutatorian. She earned a cumulative numeric average of 96.67 in her high school career. She has attended LCA for six years. She served as a leader of a UPS Community Service Group to Warsaw Christian School and was the secretary of National Honor Society. She has been active in the LCA music department, singing in choir and the music group Evidence. She was named Outstanding Senior in a Foreign Language and plans to study media communication and French in the fall. Jacob Cole is the son of Mark and Sharon Cole, Winona Lake. He has been awarded the co-Timothian award for the class of 2011. In addition to his academic studies, he has been active in soccer, basketball and baseball, holding leadership roles in all three sports. He is a leader of the Jefferson Elementary UPS Community Service group and is a member of National Honor Society. He was named Outstanding Senior in Art and Male Athlete of the Year. He will attend Grace College in the fall to study graphic design. Anna McQuade has been named this year’s co-Timothian and is the daughter of John and Joy McQuade, Claypool. She has attended Lakeland for two years. She has been a member of the drama department and was a leader of a UPS Community Service group, Miraculous Moments for Moms, at North Webster Church of God. She was on the Worship Arts team, and the vice president of the senior class and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne in the fall to major in nursing. The graduation ceremony was June 4 at LCA.
