Lawrence Edward Burkel Jr., 46, of Chapman Lake, died at 7 a.m. June 23, 2007, in his residence.
He was born Dec. 5, 1960, in Chicago, Ill., to Lawrence E. and Pearl Kenn Burkel Sr. On July 19, 1980, in Bollingbrook, Ill., he married Darlene Mozdren, who survives.
Living in the Warsaw area most of his life, he worked at Phend and Brown Asphalt Co. He loved to fish and boat, travel and the outdoors.
Also surviving are his mother, Pearl Burkel, Warsaw; two brothers, David and Edgar Burkel, both of Colorado; an uncle, Edward Kenn, Illinois; and his mother and father-in-law, Donald and Sara Mozdren, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Father Paul Bueter officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
