Lawrence E. Kennedy, 70, of Yellow Creek Lake, died at 11:43 p.m. Jan. 7, 2008, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born May 22, 1937, in Plymouth, to George and Frances Peterson Kennedy. On Aug. 12, 1955, in Plymouth, he married Jo Alyce Ohler, who died in April 2001. On Nov. 20, 2004, in Warsaw, he married Elizabeth Gregory Cole, who survives.
He was owner and operator of Tri-Namic Printing, Warsaw, for more than 40 years, and formerly worked at R.R. Donnelly, Warsaw. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-58. He was a 1955 Plymouth High School graduate; district governor of Kiwanis Clubs International from 1982-83; and a member of Warsaw Noon Kiwanis and AOPA, attending the conventions in Oshkosh, Wis., for many years. He enjoyed quiet night rides on Yellow Creek Lake, sitting with the "Yellowcreek crew" swapping stories, waterskiing, breakfast and lunch at Dig's Diner, snow skiing in Keystone, Colo., and breakfast fly-ins while piloting a Cessna out of the Mentone and Warsaw airports. He was a handyman and home remodeler and delivered Meals on Wheels in the Silver Lake area.
Also surviving are a daughter, Debbie (and spouse Ronald) Coleman, Plainfield; two sons, Brogan Kennedy and Robert "Bob" (and spouse Carrie) Kennedy, both of Warsaw; two grandchildren, Jason and Brittany Kennedy, both of Warsaw; and two brothers, Paul (and spouse Linda) Kennedy, Auburn, and David (and spouse Pat) Kennedy, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Jamy Gregory officiating.
