NAPPANEE – Lawrence “Bud” Sawyer, 91, Milford, died at 7:50 p.m. Nov. 28, 2014, at his residence. He was born March 25, 1923, in Kosciusko County to Ransom and Edith Stuckman Sawyer. On Dec. 6, 1944, in Nappanee, he married Ruby L. Holloway, who died Nov. 29, 2011. He was a World War II army veteran, wounded at the Battle of the Bulge. He received both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star awards. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nappanee Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Byrl Shaver officiating. Burial is in Union Center Cemetery with military graveside rites by Nappanee American Legion. Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, and for one hour prior to services Wednesday. ***** Memorials to Nappanee Church of the Brethren.
