Laveral W. “Bert” Ransbottom, 86, Warsaw, passed away at 2:37 a.m. Sept. 7, 2015, at Grace Village Retirement Center, Winona Lake. He was born Dec. 25, 1928, in Kosciusko County, to Melvin and Almeda Sisk Ransbottom. On Oct. 23, 1949, in Palestine, he married Ella Mae Shilling, who survives in Winona Lake. They were married for 65 years. He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County and worked for Dalton Foundry as a forklift operator for 42 years. He also worked for Kosciusko County Highway Department on the mowing crew and the Fitness Shop, in maintenance. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Claypool and Claypool Lions Club. He was also a former volunteer firefighter for the Claypool Fire Department. Also surviving are: four children, Cindy Gates, and Roger (and spouse Dawn) Ransbottom, all of Warsaw, Sally (and spouse Rex) Gradeless, Auburn; and Kathy (and spouse Gary) Sponseller, Etna Green; 11 grandchildren, Rhonda (and spouse Rene), Steven, Cheyenne (and spouse Justin), Karrin, Tyvan (and spouse Nicolette), Daren (and spouse Rachel), Wendy (and spouse Clark “Ross”), Rex II, Kyle (and spouse Mai), Amy (and spouse Jeremy), Barry and 11 great-grandchildren, Diego, Jordy, Aleah, Jake, Jenna, Kylie, Colt, Oaklee, Ella, Hailey and Abbie. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Mike Settles officiating.
