NAPPANEE – Laura Mae Schmucker, 84, of Etna Green, died at 7:35 a.m. Dec. 31, 2012, in her residence. She was born July 23, 1928, in Locke Township, to Martin and Barbara Hershberger Schmucker. A lifetime area resident, she had been a factory worker and did babysitting and was a member of Old Order Amish Church. Surviving are her brothers, Eli Schmucker, Chaparral, N.M; Herman (and spouse Ruthie) Schmucker, Auburn, Ky.; Mahlon (and spouse Mary) Schmucker, Macy; and Daniel (and spouse Esther) Schmucker, Clarence (and spouse Lydia Ann) Schmucker and John (and spouse Tillie) Schmucker, all of Franklin, Ky.; and Joseph (and spouse Carol) Schmucker, Hutchinson, Kan.; and sisters: Katie (and spouse Henry) Mast, Pittsford, Mich.; Elizabeth (and spouse Menno) Kuhns, Drakesville, Iowa; Sylvia (and spouse Marvin) Mast, Etna Green; and Ida (and spouse Mahlon) Wagler, Hutchinson, Kan. She was preceded in death by a brother. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Marvin Mast residence, 8178 W. CR 640N, Etna Green, with Bishops Edward Miller and Walter Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in Graber Cemetery. Calling is all day today at the Mast residence. Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee, is in charge of arrangements.
