AMBOY - Laura L. McGaffney, 84, of 212 E. Pennsylvania, Amboy, died at 9:25 a.m. June 8, 2007, in Century Villa Health Care, Greentown.
She was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Upland, to William Ray and Verna Shrock Swingle, who preceded her in death. On April 6, 1959, she married Paul E. McGaffney, who survives.
She was a homemaker and a 1940 graduate of Amboy High School. She was a member of Converse Christian Church.
Surviving are a son, William Ray (and wife Jolene) Huiras, Silver Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Monica) Oliver, Sheridan; a brother, Mark (and wife Barbara) Swingle, Edinburgh; two sisters, Marceille Siedlecki, Florida, and Mrs. Robert (Pauline) Feller, Cassville; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were at 11 a.m. today at Laird Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, with the Rev. Erin Huiras officiating. Burial will be in Santa Fe Cemetery.
