Posted

A Pierceton laundromat was destroyed Monday by a fire believed to have started in a gas dryer. Pierceton Fire Department was called to the business at 327 W. Market St., Pierceton, at 12:43 p.m. It took an hour to bring the fire under control, according to fire chief Gordon Baker. The structure sustained an estimated $100,000 damage and is considered a total loss. The business, owned by Marvin Clay, was open when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.
