Larwill Celebrates Anniversary With Squawbuck Days

LARWILL -ÊCelebrating its 145th anniversary, Larwill will host Squawbuck Days Aug. 20, 21 and 22.

The annual festival is presented for the enjoyment of friends and neighbors and to afford an opportunity for everyone to renew old acquaintances and cultivate new ones. Squawbuck Days is a joint fund-raiser, hosted by the community organizations, to finance and better accomplish their intended services to Larwill and the surrounding community.

Kicking off the festival are the pull-in antique tractors and crafts beginning at noon Aug. 20. The fire department will host a tenderloin fry at 4 p.m. Bingo will begin at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Lions Club to benefit the Whitko Dollars for Scholars.

On Aug. 21, Larwill and Oak Grove United Methodist Church will host a pancake and sausage breakfast from 6 to 9 a.m. At 7 a.m., a walk through the past of Larwill community will be held at the Bill Leffel Community Room. Crafts will be sold at the flea market at 7 a.m.

Registration for the Kiddie Tractor Pull will be at 10 a.m. Also at 10 a.m. will be the moon walk and dunk tank. The kiddie tractor pull begins at 10:30 a.m. and is sponsored by the First National Bank of Warsaw.

The Lions will host a ham and bean dinner at 11 a.m. and the Ladies Auxilliary will host Dinner From The Kitchen.

The garden tractor pull weigh-in will be at noon with the pull at 1 p.m. The tractor pull is sponsored by the Indiana Garden Tractor Pullers Association.

Weekend festivities will conclude at 10 a.m. with Singspiration.

All events are held at the fire station except where noted.
