AKRON – Larry Smith, 54, of 1862 S. CR 1600E, Silver Lake, died at 7:44 a.m. Oct. 7, 2012, in his residence.

He was born March 30, 1958, in Springfield, Ohio, to Lawrence G. and Ruby Cheeks Smith. On May 21, 1977, in Dayton, Ohio, he married Donna Jean Woodall, who survives.

He lived in Silver Lake for 25 years.

He work in fabrication and was a welder. While living in Dayton, he was a volunteer fireman.

Also surviving are his mother, Ruby Smith, Enon, Ohio; a daughter, Angela Marie Smith, Rochester; a brother, Larry W. Jr. (and spouse Andrea) Smith, Silver Lake; three sisters: Patricia (and spouse Orville) Thomas, Verona, Ky.; Carolyn (and spouse Gary) Campbell, Medway, Ohio; and Ruby Ellen Bruggeman,   Piqua, Ohio; a brother-in-law, William S. (and spouse Kelley) Woodall, Mentone; a sister-in-law, Kimberly (and spouse William) White, Statesville, N.C.; cousins:  James and Russell Smith and several more; his mother-in-law, Marlene (and spouse Thomas) Smith, Akron; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence G. Smith; his father-in-law: William F. Woodall; and a son-in-law, Jerimy Biltz.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, with the Rev. Tom Bradford and James Smith officiating. Burial will be in Hoover Mt. Hope Cemetery, Athens.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
