Larry L. StavedahlMENTONE – Larry L. Stavedahl, 82, of Warsaw and formerly of Mentone, went to be in God’s presence surrounded by his loving family at 11:49 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at his residence. He was born on June 20, 1937, in South Bend, to the late Charles and Eva Mae Blew Stavedahl. He married on Oct. 27, 1957, in the Mentone First Baptist Church, to Rebecca M. “Becky” Bowser; she survives. He worked for Lowery’s Sewing Center of Warsaw for over 25 years, retiring in 2001. Larry was a 1956 graduate of Talma High School. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports. He especially loved watching his children and grandchildren play in many sporting events. He served as song leader, church bus driver and deacon at Talma Bible Church. He was always active in church and led church services for 13 years on Sunday mornings at Pic-a-Spot Campground. Most recently, he attended Cornerstone Church of Mentone and after moving to Warsaw, he attended Pathway Church. He is survived by wife, Becky Stavedahl, Warsaw; daughters, Angela and husband Lee Swihart, Rochester; and Sheri and husband John McDaniel, Warsaw; sons, Rodney and wife Kim Stavedahl, Fort Wayne; David and wife Christine Stavedahl, Warsaw; and Curtis and wife Andrea Stavedahl, Etna Green; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Ted and wife Becky Stavedahl, Redding, Calif.; and sister, Alice Vining, Glen Ellyn, Ill. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Eva Mae Stavedahl; and brother, Richard Gene Stavedahl. Visitation hours will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9 at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10 at the funeral home, with Pastor Rod Utter officiating.
