BOURBON - Larry L. Hall, 65, of 10150 Cedar Road, Bourbon, died Aug. 24, 2009, in his residence in the care of his family after an illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Plymouth, to Lester A. and Evelyn Bessinger Hall. In November 2001, he married Shirley Blosser, who survives.
A lifetime Bourbon area resident, he was owner of Painting Etc. and formerly owned Citgo Gas Station and Auto Repair, Bourbon. He graduated from Bourbon High School in 1961, and Ball State University. He was instrumental in forming the Bourbon EMS, was a Bourbon Fire Dept. volunteer for many years and was former past president of the Jaycees. He was a member of Nappanee Missionary Church.
Also surviving are a daughter, Krista (and spouse Harold) Sutton, Leiters Ford; a son, David (and spouse Pia) Hall, Carry, N.C.; three stepchildren; Sherry (and spouse Roy) Swineheart, Mottville, Mich.; William (and spouse Sylvia) Emanuel, Elkhart; and Brad (and spouse Tori) Blosser, Middlebury; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; his mother, Evelyn Hall, Bourbon; and three sisters, Jerilyn (and spouse Richard) Anders and Barb (and spouse Steve) Roberts, all of Bourbon, and Karen (and spouse Billy) Dillie, Adrian, Mich. He was preceded in death by his father.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Nappanee Missionary Church with Pastor Marvin Engbrecht officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, Bourbon, and one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
