AKRON – Lanny Gillman, 77, rural Akron, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025.
Lanny Gillman was born April 26, 1948, in Man, W.Va., to Everett and Myrtle Browning Gillman. On July 7, 1967, in Clintwood, Va., he married Linda S. Lester; she died July 4, 2025.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Interment will take place following the service in Nichols Cemetery, Akron, next to his wife.
Visitation hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6 at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105; or to the local animal shelter of your choosing.
