WINONA LAKE — Offering former athletes a chance at one more day of glory on the field, the second annual Lancer Legacy Day will be Saturday at Grace College. Starting at 8 a.m., Lancer Legacy Day provides opportunities for Grace College athletic alumni to play among current Grace student-athletes in organized games and scrimmages for men’s tennis, baseball, women’s softball and volleyball, kicking off wit a 5K run at 9 a.m. At 10 a.m., Grace hosts the Lancer Cross Country Invitational, which is followed by men’s tennis against Indiana Wesleyan (1 p.m.), women’s soccer against Siena Heights (2 p.m.) and men’s soccer against Moody (4 p.m.). “Based on the success and positive feedback from last year’s inaugural event, we’re thrilled to invite these former athletes back to campus again this year,” said Tammy Denlinger, director of alumni relations. “It’s a great way for alumni to stay in touch with Grace and the current student-athletes really seem to enjoy the interaction with alumni as well.” There will also be special presentations taking place throughout the day recognizing past Lancer athletes.
