Lance Running For Recorder

Posted

Denise Lance is seeking the job of county recorder.

In a recent interview, Lance disagreed with statements made by LaShawn Brumfield, who is running against Lance. Brumfield said recently that she was the only candidate qualified for the job of county recorder.

Lance disagreed, citing her seven years of experience working in the recorder's office and five years working at local title companies.

She also said that while working in the recorder's office, Brumfield would often ask for advice.

"What concerns me," Lance said, "is her age and lack of experience."

Lance, who said she works in the recorder's office on a daily basis and knows the laws and requirements that are changing in the office, would like to make the recorder's office more efficient and more accessible to the public, implementing an "open door" policy.

She has also served as state secretary for the Office of Education Association.

Lance has lived in Kosciusko County all her life and graduated from Warsaw Community High School. She and her husband, Dan, have been married for seven years.
