Lana I. Miner, 98, Warsaw and formerly of Etna Green, passed away at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 25, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home, Warsaw.
She was born March 10, 1917, in Whitley County, to Edgar and Minnie Snodgrass Smith. On Dec. 31, 1941, she married Thomas Lowell Miner, who preceded her in death June 18, 1992.
She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Pierceton High School in 1935 and then attended International Business College. She was a homemaker and was bookkeeper for Miner Plumbing and Heating which she and her husband operated for many years serving the rural areas of Etna Green. She also had worked before marrying at Farnsworth Company of Fort Wayne where she was able to see the first TV projected from one room to another.
She was a past member of the ONO Club and Mary Tones Home Ec Club, both of Etna Green. She was a very faithful member of the Etna Green United Methodist Church and she enjoyed her family who will greatly miss her.
Survivors are: her daughter, Donna (and spouse Joe) Kintzel, Warsaw; a son, Wayne (and spouse Serita) Miner, Foley, Ala.; three grandchildren: Jim (and spouse Aimee) Kintzel, Myles (and spouse Melissa) Miner, and Travis (and spouse Angela) Miner, and six great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Evelyn Sellers and a brother, Eldon Smith.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Etna Green United Methodist Church, with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating. Burial is in Etna Green Cemetery.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon, and one hour before the service Friday at the church.
