What would happen if you were given an assignment by your English teacher and you did it, but could not find it?
Add to that the reality that if you did not find it immediately, you would fail English and have to attend summer school. What would you do?Well, if you are Obie Adams, the answer is easy. You just dive into the deep end of your imagination and tell a tale. A very tall tale that includes kidnapping, a children's book writer who is really a weird scientist while wearing a kilt, a half-dog boy, a talking gorilla boy, a bird girl, cat girl and an heiress suffering from mongo mongo fever.
This is a simple situation for the hero, Obie, who loves telling stories and is taking a mail order course in private detective work.
Join the Drama Club at Lakeview Middle School and watch Obie as he squirms his way into and out of situations that would make a middle school student proud.
However, if you have any idea of using this material to avoid doing your homework, don't. Let Obie Adams be the example of what can go wrong.
"A Monster Ate My Homework" will be presented April 17-19 at 7 p.m. in the Lakeview Middle School Auditorium, Warsaw. Tickets are $4 per person and sold at the door.
Appropriate for all ages. Running time is 90 minutes with one 10-minute intermission.
