SIDNEY — A Laketon man was arrested earlier this week after police said he stabbed a woman and then ran from police. Jeremy James King, 42, is facing felony counts of battery with a deadly weapon and resisting law enforcement, as well as misdemeanor driving while suspended and driving while intoxicated. On Feb. 28, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy met with the victim, who said she had gotten into an argument with King, who battered her and stabbed her with a knife that she had purchased for him. King left the scene and law enforcement began a search for him. A Pierceton police officer located King’s car on Ind. 13 and attempted a traffic stop. Police said King fled from the officer north on Ind. 13 at speeds of 120 mph. Law enforcement chased King until the intersection of Ind. 13 and CR 400S, when King left the road and ran into a ditch. After the car came to a stop, police gave a breath test to King and a 16-year-old passenger in his car. King had a blood-alcohol content of 0.11 and the minor’s was 0.09. King had been convicted of operating a vehicle while intoxicated Sept. 18, 2014. As of Friday evening, King is in the Kosciusko County Jail. Bond was set at $251,000.
