Lakeland Sewer Board President Resigns

Posted
Dave Doctor has resigned from the Lakeland Regional Sewer District board, board member Bob Sanders said Thursday evening.
Doctor, who serves as board president, sent notice to members that he is resigning effective immediately due to health reasons, according to Sanders.
“I was shocked, he was the driver behind this,” Sanders said.
Doctor said by email this morning he has been considering resigning for the past two years because of health issues.
“I continued to serve for as long as I could, but now because of another relapse with my health it is time to resign,” he said. “My resignation will not affect the project. The Lakeland RSD board is made up of very competent individuals with excellent business backgrounds that provide for strengths in differing areas of expertise needed for this project.  This has been and still is one of the greatest strengths of this board. And, because of that, this project will be a success.”
He added that he will continue to be available to the board to provide input and answer questions.
Sanders said county commissioners may look at appointing a replacement sewer district board member at their May 21 meeting.
The sewer district was formed in March 2008 to develop a sewer system with treatment plant around the Barbee Lake chain. The seven-member board meets on the first Thursday of every month in the North Webster Community Center.
