Lakeland Names Top Students

Patrick Lee is the valedictorian for Lakeland Christian Academy's class of 2003, with Kathryn Marie Stine as salutatorian. The Timothian award will be shared by Lee and Allison Bollman.

The son of David and Marcia Lee, Warsaw, Lee will graduate with a grade point average of 97.66 on a 100-point scale. He has participated in Richard Lugar's Symposium for Tomorrow's Leaders and Student Leaders' Day at the Indiana Legislature, been president of student senate, a member of National Honor Society, co-captain of the varsity soccer team and a member of the homecoming court. He served as the student body chaplain, received the Christian Character and Christian Service awards and has been on the all-A honor roll and received a gold honor cord. Lee attends Pleasant View Bible Church and has volunteered in preschool class. He plans to attend Grace College to major in mathematics and computers and received from Grace the Dane and Mary Louise Miller Merit Award.

Stine, the daughter of Steve and Mary Ann Stine, Etna Green, will graduate with a GPA of 97.537. She also participated in Lugar's symposium and Student Leaders' Day at the Legislature, and has been a member of the National Honor Society and student senate. She received the Christian Character, Christian Service, perfect attendance and Distinguished Christian awards, has been on the all-A honor roll and received a gold honor cord. She is a nine-year member of 4-H and was on a mission team to Bonaire. She also has participated in Reaching Our Community groups and the Combined Community Services toy giveaway. Stine will attend Taylor University, Fort Wayne, to major in writing and English and minor in Spanish. She received the Founders Scholarship and the Ramseyer Scholarship from Taylor.

Bollman, the daughter of Keith and Wanda Bollman, Warsaw, is the co-recipient with Lee of the Timothian Award. The Timothian is given to the students who exemplify the exhortation found in 1 Timothy 4:12, which states: Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." Bollman has been a member of the choir and National Honor Society and received the Christian Character and Christian Service awards. She also participated in Student Leaders' Day and was a member of a Bonaire mission team. She plans to attend Ball State University and major in communications.

LCA's graduation ceremony will be May 31 at 2 p.m. at the school.
