Lake City Car-Truck Offers A ‘New Way’ To Buy A Used VehicleLake City Car and Truck, 3932 E. U.S. 30, Warsaw, offers a “new way to buy a used car.”
On Thursday, the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting for the car and truck dealership, located where The Car Company used to be.
Ted Nine, owner and general manager of Lake City Car and Truck, said, “We own Warsaw Buick GMC and Chrysler Dodge Ram across town. So we bought this to (offer) a new way to buy used cars in this town. Nobody is doing what we’re doing. There’s lots of people going after different markets, and it’s kind of a market we’ve seen.”
He said while they sell new and used cars across town, Lake City Car-Truck is strictly used cars “and it’s more of a value proposition - a couple-year-old cars that already have some depreciation taken out of them so you can buy a really nice car with a warranty on it, but not pay the high price of a new car.”
He said their website at https://www.lakecitycartruck.com/ is interactive so “customers can not only get the price of the car, but value on their trade, down payment figures, payment figures. Fill out a credit application, actually buy a car from their home if they wanted to,” Nine said.
He said with everyone wanting to do all their shopping online at home, “we’re trying to set up a seamless, transparent process so people can” buy a car online. “Personally, I think everybody ought to come drive a car before they buy it, but if you don’t want to you don’t have to.”
Another option, Nine suggested, is that a person could do part of the process online and then, once they figure out which vehicle they want, the payments they want and get approved, they can come in and test drive it before taking delivery of it.
Nine said Lake City Car-Truck opened Jan. 15. All the employees are brand new. They sell every make that there is - Nissan, Toyotas, Hondas, Fords, Chevys, Dodges, Rams, Jeeps and more.
“Pretty much, if it’s got four wheels, we’ve got it,” he said.
Lake City Car-Truck no longer has the Suzuki motorcycles.
“We moved the motorcycles down. We bought Lake City Honda as well in August, so the plan was to movie Suzuki down there and we just got that accomplished at the beginning of the month. So Suzuki is down the street. There’s no more Suzukis here,” Nine explained.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
“Come give us a shot,” he said. “My tagline is a new way to buy a used car in this town.”
