SOUTH WHITLEY — The Whitko volleyball team set a couple of single-match records, but Tippecanoe Valley got the Three Rivers Conference win in South Whitley Wednesday night. Winning in a tight four-game match (17-25, 25-21, 27-25, 28-26), the Tippecanoe Valley Lady Vikings withstood record-setting nights from Whitko seniors Elaine Warner and Maddie Gawthrop. Warner's 40 assists were a school record for a single match, as were the 20 kills put up by Gawthrop. Warner also had 31 digs, while Emily Day had three assists and three aces for the Lady Wildcats, but the numbers weren't enough for the win. Improving to 17-9 overall and 4-2 in the TRC, the Lady Vikings had three girls reach double-digit kills, as senior Caylie Teel had 17, sophomore Abby Betten posted 12 and junior Lexi O'Connell finished with 10. Teel also had 13 digs and four aces for Valley, while senior Jaden Biddle also had 13 digs, junior Maddy Henninger posted 19 assists. Whitko hosts an invitational Saturday and Valley's next match is its TRC finale Tuesday at Southwood. TIPPECANOE VALLEY DEF.
