WABASH – The Whitko girls won the team title at Thursday’s Three Rivers Conference track meet, and the boys team finished second in the competition held at Southwood High School. Kaitlyn Reed was a triple winner for Whitko, taking the 100, 200 and the high jump. She was third in the shot put. The 4x100 relay team of Abby Overmeyer, Elaine Warner, Reghan Craig and Lauren Riemersma won in 52.57 seconds. Michelle Kelsey and Craig tied for first in the pole vault, and Warner was second in the long jump. Manchester finished fifth in the team standings. The Lady Squires’ Bailey Sewell and Madison Isbell finished forst and third, respectively, in the discus. Tippecanoe Valley was sixth overall. Lexi O’Connell won the 100 hurdles in 16.64, and Makayla Ruiz was second in the shot put for the Lady Vikings. In the boys’ meet, Whitko’s Walker Hobbs won the shot put with a toss of 52 feet, 1/4 inch. Teammate Zach Baughman was third in the shot. Daniel Kirkham was second in the 400, and sophomore Brady Weeks was third in the 110 and 300 hurdles. The 4x100 relay team of Will Bumbaugh, Garrett Elder, Alex Wilson and Gavin Powell was second, and the 4x400 relay team was third. Seniors Will Bumbaugh and Jacob Helton finished second and third, respectively, in the pole vault for the Wildcats. Gavin Howard was third in the shot. Valley was fifth the in the team standings. The Viking 4x100 relay team of Deontee Smith, Neil Clampitt, Dakota Parker and Michael Thacker won the conference title in that event in 44.63. Senior Aaron Hoffman was second in the discus and fourth in the shot for the Vikings. Manchester finished sixth as a team. Colin McNeeley won the 200 and was second in the 100 for the Squires.
