CHURUBUSCO – Whitko junior Aly Reiff scored 31 points, and the Lady Wildcats completed a Whitley County sweep with a 54-47 win at Churubusco Saturday night. Reiff hit nine shots from the floor, including a pair of three-point shots, and went 11 of 12 from the free-throw line. Jennifer Reiff added eight points and Hanna Yohe scored six points for the Lady Wildcats. Whitko head coach Brandon Bradley said his team “struggled at times with fatigue from Friday night's battle with Columbia City, not to mention playing their fourth game in nine days, but give Churubusco credit because they came to play.” Churubusco led 16-14 after the first quarter, but Whitko outscored the Lady Eagles in every period afterward. Whitko remains unbeaten at 4-0 and will travel to Peru for the Three Rivers Conference opener for both teams. Churubusco will take a 1-1 mark into Tuesday night’s game with Lakeland Christian in Winona Lake.
