SYRACUSE – Led by Mikala Mawhorter, Wawasee’s varsity girls golf team carded wins over Concord and Whitko Thursday at South Shore, as the Lady Warriors improved their season record to 3-0. Wawasee shot a four-person score of 194, beating Concord’s 201 and Whitko’s 235. Mawhorter took medalist honors with a 45, while teammate Elizabeth Jackson shot 48 and had the second-best score of the 15 varsity golfers that competed. Other scores for the Lady Warriors included Kamryn Foy’s 49 and a pair of 52s from Courtney McDaniel and Kylee Rostochak. McKenna Grimske led Concord with a 49, while Sonny Oberholtzer and Mikalla Searer shot 50s, Olivia Kauffman finished with a 52 and Libby Gill carded a 58. April Bishop led Whitko with a 52, while Kennedy Krull was the only other player in the 50s for the Lady Wildcats with her 58. Other scores for Whitko included Elizabeth Gensch’s 64, Kirsten Crawford’s 71 and Claire Reiff’s 73.
