Lady Warriors Get Win Going into NLC Championships

SYRACUSE — Hosting a Northern Lakes Conference meet against the Goshen Lady Redskins Saturday, the 17th-ranked Wawasee girls swim team claimed a 117-68 win.
In all, the Wawasee girls won 10 of the 12 events, including all three relays. Wawasee’s 200 medley relay (Karla Allen, Hannah Winters, Brittany Robinson, Sarah Steele) began the meet with a win, while the 200 free relay (Sarah Rozow, Kendra Miller, Steele, Breanna Robinson) also won and the 400 free relay (Miller, S. Rozow, Bre. Robinson, Brit. Robinson) closed the meet with a victory.
The girls travel to Concord Thursday for the preliminary round of the NLC Championships.
Saturday in North Manchester The Manchester girls swim team got a 104-73 home win over the Tippecanoe Valley Lady Vikings Saturday. In the win, Manchester’s foursome of Natalee Cain, Lille Terrill, Katie Durden and Annie Chen won the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. For Valley, its team of Pamela Gonsalez, Taylor Garringer, Caitlin Heisler and Ericka Webb won the 200 free relay. Valley is back in competition Tuesday at home against Rochester, while Manchester’s next meet is Jan. 18 at home against Oregon-Davis. MANCHESTER 97, TIPPECANOE VALLEY 67 200 Medley Relay — 1. WRESTLING Saturday in Kendallville The Warsaw wrestling team finished second at Saturday’s East Noble Invitational, with senior Jarred Brooks being named Most Outstanding Wrestler after finishing first at 113 pounds. Along with Brooks’ first-place finish, Warsaw’s Luis Cervantes (126) and Miguel Delfin (220) finished second. Warsaw hosts Goshen for a Northern Lakes Conference match Thursday.
