HUNTINGTON – Wawasee gymnasts competed at Huntington North, the site of the IHSAA Regionals on March 4, and came away with a narrow 103.250-102.075 win over the Lady Vikings Thursday night. Reagan Atwood was second in the all-around, taking first on the vault and bars, second on the floor and third on the beam. Jada Parzygnot was third all around, having a second-place finish on the beam, third-place finishes on the vault and bars and fourth on the floor. “We like having the opportunity to compete on the equipment at Huntington North, since it is the site for our regional championships,” said Wawasee head coach Nike Prather. “And, of course, we do plan on making it to regionals this year. “Going in to this meet, I thought we were evenly matched. Their scores have averaged around 101 or so, which is close to our average. The finals scores proved it.” The Lady Warriors have one last regular season meet; hosting Plymouth on Tuesday.
