Lady Trojans' Win Leads Roundup

BREMEN — Behind junior Shana Anderson's 23 points and freshman Kylie Mason's 21, the Class 1A No. 6 Triton Lady Trojans defeated Bremen 75-70 in a double-overtime thriller Friday night in Bremen.
The victory gives Triton an overall 8-0 record 2-0 in the Northern State Conference season at 1-0, while Bremen is 2-6 and 1-1 in the NSC.
In their latest conquest, Anderson also had a team-high eight rebounds for the Lady Trojans, while Mason converted five three-pointers to get to her point total.
Also for the Lady Trojans, sophomore Taylor Hatfield had 16 points and five assists, while sophomore Mallorie Jennings had 12 points and three steals.
Triton is back in action Wednesday at Rochester.

The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team improved to 2-0 in Three Rivers Conference play and 6-2 overall following its 65-27 win at North Miami Friday night. In the win, Staci Groom scored 24 points without making a three-pointer, while she also posted five steals, four rebounds and three steals. Senior Megan Bibler and junior Courtney Newsome each posted eight points, while junior Connor Fraser had a team-high eight rebounds. The Lady Vikings travel to Winamac Thursday.

Opening its Northern Lakes Conference season at Goshen Friday night, the Wawasee girls basketball team fell 67-49. Aimee Swihart scored 24 points in Goshen's win, while Wawasee was led by junior KiLee Knafel's 26. The loss leaves Wawasee at 3-3 going into today's home game against South Bend Adams.
