KNOX – The Triton girls tennis team put all seven of its varsity players on the All-Hoosier North Athletic Conference first team by sweeping all five positions in the inaugural HNAC tournament that concluded Thursday. Shayla May was tabbed the top player in the conference after her No. 1 singles championship win over Knox’s Hannah Lueth. Kolbie Mason won the No. 2 singles title with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Knox’s Shelby Faverty, and Quinn Downing took the crown at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Knox’s Maria Hasneri. Emma Ross and Hannah Wanemacher lost just one game in claiming the No. 1 doubles title. Megan McFarland and Tatum Thompson had the most tightly contested championship match, coming back from a set down to be LaVille’s Brianna Lindke and Sydney Han 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Next up for Triton will be the Bremen Sectional next week; the draw will be Monday and the tournament will begin Wednesday and Thursday.
