Lady Trojans Get No-Hit By Bremen For First NSC LossBOURBON — The Triton softball team suffered its first Northern State Conference loss without even getting a hit. Hosting the Bremen Lady Lions Thursday, the Triton Lady Trojans were no-hit by Chelsea Huppert in a 3-0 loss. In the no-hitter, Huppert struck out eight Lady Trojans, tossing 20 first-pitch strikes. Triton junior pitcher Mallorie Jennings also had 20 first-pitch strikes and struck out six in the complete game. And although Jennings only allowed three hits, they were big ones. In the top of the fourth, Huppert hit a double, which was followed two batters later by a Taylor Lashbrook single, setting up a three-run homer by Emily Molden. That sequence was the only offense in the game, but it was enough for Bremen. The loss drops Triton’s record to 7-3 overall and 4-1 in the NSC.
