KOKOMO — The Warsaw girls track and field team continued its dominance at the Kokomo Relays Saturday afternoon. Scoring 158.5 points, the Lady Tigers won their second-straight Kokomo Relays title and sixth in seven years. On top of getting the victory, Warsaw also left Kokomo with three meet records and a new school record. Among the meet records were the shuttle hurdle relay of Claire Hickerson, Brittney Rhodes, Elise White and Jackie Ferguson, as well as the freshman sprint relay of Mariah Harter, Vicki Harris, Megan Kratzsch and Nicole Eckert. The shuttle hurdle relay won in a time of 1:06.75, eclipsing the 2011 record of 1:08.59 set by Noblesville. The freshman relay won in 3:00.85, breaking the old record of 3:06.16, which was set by a Warsaw relay. In other record-breaking news, Ashley Erba broke her own 3200 record school record as well as the meet record, by winning in a time of 10:45.18. Erba also anchored the winning medley relay with Harter, Tennie Worrell and Brooke Kline, helping her win Outstanding Female Athlete. Erba is the third Lady Tiger to win the award, joining Julie Seiss (2006) and Karrie Burch (2007). Warsaw ended the meet by winning all the relays, including its middle distance relay (Eckert, Ellie Bearss, Kratzsch, Lilly Fleming), its 400 relay (Regina Anderson, Harter, Rhodes, Ann Harvuot) and its sprint relay (Harvuot, Rhodes, Worrell, Ferguson). Along with Erba’s win in the 3200, the Lady Tigers also received an individual win from Ann Harvuot in the 100. The Lady Tigers are at Concord Tuesday, taking part in an NLC double-dual meet along with Elkhart Memorial.
