And then there was one. In a battle of Northern Lakes Conference unbeaten volleyball teams, the Warsaw Lady Tigers hosted and defeated the NorthWood Lady Panthers in three games Thursday evening. Both teams entered the contest with 5-0 conference records. Warsaw beat Class 3A No. 10 NorthWood 25-19, 25-19, 25-22. With the win, the Lady Tigers improved to 20-4 overall, while NorthWood fell to 21-4. Warsaw is guaranteed at least a share of the conference championship and can earn an outright title when it hosts Concord Oct. 4. The Lady Tigers put themselves in great position to win the NLC when they won at Elkhart Memorial Aug. 23. Memorial had won 76-straight conference matches, and it’s been a decade since the Crimson Chargers haven’t won the title. Senior Jamie Lacheta played a major role in Warsaw’s win, tallying 13 kills, 11 digs, five aces and a pair of blocks. Senior Chloe Hubner had 28 assists, an ace and a block for the Lady Tigers.
