Warsaw set three school records and reached the podium four times, and Whitko also had an athlete receive a medal in the IHSAA girls state track meet Saturday in Bloomington.
The Lady Tigers’ Samantha Alexander started the meet off by breaking her own school record in the long jump with a leap of 17-11.25, which held up for an eighth-place finish. She also finished 19th in the 200.
The 4x800 relay team of Hannah Dawson, Brooke Rhodes, Anna Craig and Allison Miller took to the track and set a new school record of 9:23.20 to finish seventh.
The 4x100 relay team of Mariah Harter, Alexander, Abbi Curtis and Audrey Rich narrowly missed the school record, but their time of 47.72 was good enough to place eighth.
The 4x400 relay team, which included Nicole Eckert, Jazzmine Brown, Tennie Worrell and Rich, beat a 28-year-old school record with a time of 3:58.00, and finished seventh.
Eckert set a personal record in the 300 hurdles, but fell just shy of the podium in 10th place.
Other Lady Tiger performances included Rich finishing 18th in the 200, and Miller 23rd in the 3200.
For the first time ever, the Lady Tigers earned medals in four events, including all three relay teams.
Whitko sophomore Kaitlyn Reed earned a medal by placing ninth in the high jump with a leap of 5-4. Manchester’s Lindsey Dierks cleared 5-0 and placed 24th.
Pike won the team state title with 50 points, edging runner-up Warren Central by two.
West Lafayette was third with 42 points, followed in the top five by Northrop (31), Ben Davis (27) and Carmel (27).
Warsaw finished in a seven-way tie for 20th with 10 points.
