The Warsaw softball team began its 2013 season Saturday at the Tigers Athletic Complex, falling 4-2 to Elkhart Central. The Warsaw Lady Tigers began fast, plating two runs in the first inning, but didn’t score again the rest of the way. While Warsaw’s offense sputtered, striking out 10 times, Central scored three runs in the fourth inning and added an insurance run in the seventh. Kayla Snider posted two of Warsaw’s hits, while Kaleigh Speicher had an RBI-double. Speicher was the losing pitcher, giving up five hits, while striking out five and walking two. The 0-1 Lady Tigers are scheduled to host South Bend Riley tonight, then travel to Penn Tuesday.
