Lady Tigers Hold Off Lady Warriors At TACAfter blowing a five-run lead in the seventh inning, the Warsaw softball team rallied to get a 6-5 home win over Wawasee Wednesday. Trailing their Northern Lakes Conference foes 5-0 going into the final frame, Wawasee tied it up in the seventh, as senior Amber Yoder drove in two runs, while freshman Alli Ousley, junior Madi Anderson and sophomore Ashlynn Fisher each had one RBI. With the game knotted at 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh, Warsaw senior Kelsey Dotson posted one of her two doubles on the night with one out. Following another out, Warsaw junior Kayla Snider drove in Dotson with a single, improving the Lady Tigers to 10-6 overall and 6-2 in NLC play. The loss dropped Wawasee to 10-11 overall and 4-4 in conference play. For Warsaw, Dotson had two hits, as did Ousley and sophomore Kara Dishman, while junior Emily Stouder led the team with two RBIs and senior Kendra Marshall hit a home run. Senior Cari O’Hara was the winning pitcher, improving her individual record to 8-3. For Wawasee, Yoder and Anderson each had two hits, with Yoder also posting two RBIs in the loss. Both teams hit the road for NLC play Friday, as Warsaw will be at Goshen and Wawasee travels to Elkhart Memorial.
