Lady Tigers Extend Win Streak

OSSIAN – Led by senior Dayton Groninger, the Warsaw Lady Tigers rallied for a 47-40 road win over Class 3A No. 10 Norwell Friday night.
Groninger, who passed the 800-point mark in her prep career earlier this week, scored 15 of her team’s 20 points in the first half and finished the contest with a game-high 19 points.
Groninger, who was 8 of 14 from the field overall, 3 of 6 from three-point range, and 4 of 5 at the free throw line, also added seven rebounds, three assists and a steal to her statline.
Classmate Madi Graham chipped in with 14 points, as Warsaw extended its win streak to seven games and improved its season record to 12-1.
Logan Rowles led Norwell (6-5) with 16 points, while Kaylee Roller and Brielle Wilson finished with nine and seven points, respectively.
Norwell led 13-12 after one quarter of play and 23-20 at halftime.
The Lady Tigers outscored Norwell 27-17 in the second half.
Warsaw is in action again Tuesday when it hosts its annual Lady Tiger Tournament.
