For Warsaw’s varsity girls track team, Tuesday evening’s meet was business as usual. Hosting Northern Lakes Conference foes Concord and NorthWood on Senior Night, the Lady Tigers extended their NLC win streak to 52 meets and turned in a pair of record-breaking performances. Warsaw, winners in 12 of the meet’s 16 events, was a 103-29 winner over NorthWood and a 102-30 winner over Concord. The Lady Tigers are now 5-0 in conference action this season. They will finish the NLC regular season schedule Tuesday in Syracuse against Wawasee and Northridge, and then host the conference championships on May 10. Among the Warsaw athletes who broke records Tuesday were Samantha Alexander and Audrey Rich. Alexander broke the Tiger Athletic Complex’s record in the long jump with a leap of 17-9.5. Rich broke her own school record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.52 seconds. Rich also won the 100 in 12.56 seconds, and teamed with Maygan Bellamy, Abbi Curtis and Alexander to win the 4x100 in 49.86. Alexander and Bellamy teamed with Brooke Rhodes and Remi Beckham to take first place in the 4x400 in a time of 4:14.13. The Lady Tigers made it a clean sweep in the relay events, as Claire Kehler, Brooke Rhodes, Hannah Dawson and Angie Sanchez-Vigil won the 4x800 in 9:49.03. Other individual winners for Warsaw included Natalie Nichols (discus, 93-0), Emily Bailey (shot put, 33-8.5), Kenzie Martz (800, 2:27.21), Allison Miller (1600, 5:23.72), Mia Beckham (3200, 11:19.66) and Lexie Day (high jump, 5-4).
