Lady Tigers Claim Six Top Seeds; Valley, Squire Swimmers Advance

Warsaw’s Brenna Morgan and Delaney Wihebrink won two races each, with Lauren Kuhl and Laurel Moeller claiming top seeds as well at the Warsaw Girls Swimming Sectional preliminaries Thursday. Tippecanoe Valley advanced two swimmers as did Manchester. Morgan took the top seeds in the 50 and 100 freestyle races, and Wihebrink was first in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke. Moeller was first in the 200 free and Kuhl earned the top seed in the 500 free. A total of 13 Lady Tiger swimmers and all three of their relay teams qualified for the sectional finals on Saturday. The Lady Vikings’ Kate Gunter was third in the 100 butterfly, and Lea Stouder qualified eighth in the 100 breaststroke. Manchester’s Allison Smith qualified seventh in the 50 free, and Alexis Vernon did likewise in the 100 breaststroke. The Lady Squires also advanced two relay teams to the championship round. The top eight in each race move on to the championship round, and the next eight qualified for the consolation round.
