Lady Tigers Advance To Sectional Title GameThe Warsaw girls soccer program didn’t only earn a spot in Saturday’s sectional championship game Thursday, but also got a new all-time leading scorer. In their 9-0 win over Wawasee in the semifinals of Sectional 7 at Warsaw Community High School, the host Lady Tigers got four goals out of senior Meredith Hollar. The four goals gives her 64 in her career, which was shortened a year-and-a-half by injuries, surpassing 2004-graduate Ashley Kitchens’ 61. Hollar’s first goal put her team in front 1-0 in the 12th minute, and from there, Warsaw rolled. Along with Hollar’s goals in the lopsided win, Gabby Monroy, Erica Gauger, Elizabeth Van Wormer, Lexi Myers and Sara Boyle also scored. Warsaw will look to obtain its third-straight sectional crown, and sixth overall, Saturday at 7 p.m. against NorthWood. When the two Northern Lakes Conference teams met on Aug. 23 in Warsaw, the teams played to a 1-1 draw, with Hollar sidelined with a knee injury.
