Lady Squires, Trojans Advance To Culver Academies Regional

CULVER — The Triton boys and Manchester girls cross country teams advanced out of Tuesday’s Culver Academies Sectional. The top five teams advance to Saturday’s 10:30 a.m. Culver Academies Regional, and the Triton Trojans made the cut with a fourth-place finish and the Manchester Lady Squires finished fifth. Also, the top 15 individuals move on to the regional, and Manchester freshman Matthew Fahs-Brown did that by placing fourth in 17:30. Individual girls advancing were Triton junior Alexandra Kann, who placed eighth in 21:15 and Tippecanoe Valley freshman Courtney Burns finished 11th in 21:38. In their fourth-place finish, the Triton boys were paced by junior Trenton Stackhouse’s 20th-place finish (19:39), followed by senior Nicholas Nordmann (22nd), junior Trenton Cooper (26th), freshman Blake Johnson (27th), freshman Landon Kaufman (34th), freshman Derek Johnston (41st). For the Manchester girls, junior Kelsi Custer led the way with a third-place finish (20:27), followed by senior Darien Rodriguez (23rd), senior Kaytlin Smith (24th), sophomore Madison Burton (39th), senior Sarrah Dierks (49th) and senior Kristiania Grogg (52nd).
