Lady Squires Score First Win Of The Season

Posted
SYRACUSE – It took Manchester High School’s varsity girls soccer team nearly 76 minutes to score in Tuesday’s match at Wawasee.
It turned out to be the only goal the Lady Squires needed, as Katelyn Andritsch’s score with just over four minutes remaining lifted the Lady Squires to a 1-0 win over the host Lady Warriors.
“We possessed the ball very well,” said Manchester coach Jacqui Erny.”Our passing has improved and we are playing more aggressive. I hope we can keep this momentum going.”
The Lady Squires had 15 shots on goal in the win, as they improved to 1-0-2 on the season.
With the loss, the Lady Warriors fell to 0-4 on the season.
“We had a slow start, but after the first 10 minutes it was an even game,” said Wawasee coach Doug Heinisch. “A lot of nice moments, but we still need to work on controlling the ball and action.”
Manchester is in action again Thursday when it hosts Oak Hill, while Wawasee entertains Northern Lakes Conference rival Concord Friday.
