NORTH MANCHESTER — The Manchester High School softball team got a dramatic Three Rivers Conference 3-2 home win over Tippecanoe Valley in eight innings Monday.
After getting one run in the bottom of the first, Manchester didn’t score again until it tied the game at 2-2 with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
In the extra inning, senior Sydney Snep ended the game with an RBI double, giving the Lady Squires the one-run victory.
The hit was Snep’s second of the game, as Brooklyn Howard also had two hits.
Howard was the game’s winning pitcher, going all eight innings, only giving up three hits and striking out nine.
Despite only getting the three hits, the Lady Vikings were on the verge of victory.
In defeat, Katie Gunter hit an RBI, while Diana Baca and Mia Gunnels each scored.
