HARTFORD CITY — The Manchester girls soccer season came to a close in the semifinals of Class 1A Sectional 38 at Blackford High School Thursday night. Taking on Eastbrook, the Manchester Lady Squires fell 4-2, ending their season at 10-7-1. Thanks to goals by Hayleigh Collett and Hanna Olk in the first half, the Lady Squires held a 2-1 lead at the half, but couldn’t hang on to it. “We had some good chances, but just couldn't pull off the win,” Manchester coach Jacqui Erny commented. “We have nine seniors and two foreign exchange students that will be missed dearly. Even though we weren’t ready to be done, we did have a great season. I’m proud of them all.” Eastbrook moves on to face North Miami in the sectional championship Saturday at 7 p.m. EASTBROOK 4, MANCHESTER 2 (Sectional 38, Semifinal) Manchester Stats: Goals – Hayleigh Collett, Hanna Olk; Assist – Morgan McKee Shots on Goal – Eastbrook 10, Manchester 7 Manchester Record: 10-7-1
