NORTH MANCHESTER — At home against Logansport Wednesday, the Manchester girls soccer team lost 1-0. Manchester outshot Logansport 27-3, but couldn’t make its chances count. “We played hard and had a lot of quality shots,” Manchester head coach Jacqui Erny said in a release. “We just couldn’t find the back of the net.” Logansport got the game’s only score with six minutes remaining, dropping the Lady Squires to 4-7-1 going into tonight’s game at Warsaw. LOGANSPORT 1, MANCHESTER 0 Shots – Logansport 3, Manchester 27. Manchester Record: 4-7-1.

The Whitko girls soccer team was handed a 6-0 loss Wednesday at Eastbrook. Whitko had six shots in the loss and Emily Jones posted seven saves. The 2-9-1 Lady Wildcats host LaVille Saturday. EASTBROOK 6, WHITKO 0 Whitko Stats: Shots – 6; Saves – Emily Jones 7.

Celebrating Senior Night Wednesday, the Manchester boys tennis team defeated Madison-Grant 4-1. For Manchester, senior Connor Eichenauer won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. At doubles, senior Branden Scott and his junior partner Noah Cain won 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 at No. 1 and the No. 2 team of senior Brayton Spann and junior Matthew Pegg got a 6-3, 6-1 victory. Manchester’s other point was captured by junior Max Karg at No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. The 11-2 Squires are at Tippecanoe Valley today.
