Lady Squires Fall To TRC Foe North MiamiNORTH MANCHESTER – Eleventh-ranked (1A) North Miami‘s volleyball team easily handled the Manchester Lady Squires 25-5, 25-10, 25-7 in a Three Rivers Conference match Monday night. The match was the last of the regular season for the Lady Squires, who honored their lone senior, Cierra Carter, before the match. “We knew that North Miami had improved a lot in the last year or two. We know we have to figure out what to do when we have a slow night to maintain balance,” Manchester head coach Rebekah Haynes said. “We have to be able to maintain our offensive balance when someone is having a slow night. (North Miami) played well, we played all right, but we’ve played better.” Junior Kennedy Rosen had four kills and a dig in the match for Manchester. Carter had a pair of kills, five digs and an assist. Junior Sydney Day had 10 assists and two kills for the Lady Squires. In the junior varsity match, North Miami won 14-25, 25-17, 15-10 over Manchester. Halie Wampler had five assists, three aces, three digs and a pair of kills, and Kara Kline added six aces, seven digs and two kills for the Lady Squires. Manchester concluded its regular season with a 10-20 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the TRC. The?Lady Squires will take on Oak Hill in the 2A Rochester Sectional on Oct. 20. “Typically we’d like to have that confidence boost from a win going into sectional. We can’t go into sectional thinking anything but ‘we’re going to have to work for this,” Haynes said. “We have some practice time to work out some kinks, and that’ll be good.” North Miami is 23-8 and will play Triton in the 1A Oregon-Davis Sectional in Hamlet Oct. 20.
