WINONA LAKE — At Lakeland Christian Academy Thursday night, the Whitko girls basketball team had a night to remember. Winning 92-35, the Whitko girls set program records for points in a game (92), margin of victory (57), made field goals (35) and assists (29). Individually, freshman Aly Reiff had 18 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, while classmate Brianna Cumberland posted 12 points, seven steals and six assists. Senior Jordan Hall had an 18-point game, converting 9 of 13 field goal attempts, to go with nine rebounds. For LCA, sophomore Rachel Sand had 16 points and classmate Hannah Delp finished with 11. Whitko (12-6) returns to the court tonight, hosting Northfield in a game that will follow the boys varsity game against North Miami. Thursday in Akron The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team closed out its regular season with a 58-39 home win over the Culver Girls Academy Thursday night. Leading 33-15 after the first half, the Lady Vikings were never really pushed in the game, ending the regular season at 12-6 and on a five-game winning streak. Valley now prepares for Class 3A Sectional 21 at NorthWood High School, as it faces Fairfield at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Against CGA, senior Cara Hoffman netted 16 points and had three steals, while freshman Anne Secrest had 10 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
