Ladd Receives Coroner Award From Assoc. Of Cities, Towns

Indianapolis - The Association of Indiana Counties named former Kosciusko County Coroner Larry Ladd the 2005 Outstanding County Coroner for important contributions he made to county government throughout his years of public service.

After serving two terms as coroner, 1996-2004, Ladd is now the county's deputy coroner. He served as the president of the Indiana State Coroner's Association in 2004 and was its vice president in 2003 and secretary-treasurer in 2002. Ladd completed more than 200 hours of advanced forensic training and investigative procedures and is a certified medicolegal death investigator. He was an emergency medical technician for the North Webster EMS Service from 1983-1995 and the 1985 EMT of the Year.

Ladd is vice president and general manager of the YBMC Corporation, Pierceton. He is a graduate of Western New Mexico University.

The award was presented during the AIC's annual conference, the largest gathering of county officials in the state. Officials met at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Indianapolis to discuss and offer solutions for issues facing local governments.

The Association of Indiana Counties Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in 1957 for the betterment of county government.
